500+ Volunteers Ready to Tackle Pocono Litter this Saturday

WHAT: More than 500 volunteers will celebrate Earth Day by removing trash from roadways across the Pocono Mountains as part of the Pick Up the Poconos Spring Cleanup, organized by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB).

Following the cleanup, participants and community members are invited to the annual Earth Day Celebration at Pocono Organics to learn about proper litter disposal, waste reduction, recycling, and preservation. The event includes craft vendors, refreshments from Pocono Organics Café, educational demonstrations, and door prizes exclusive to cleanup volunteers. Download the event flyer here.

WHENThis Saturday, April 20, 2024 (rain or shine)
Pick Up the Poconos: 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Earth Day Celebration: 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

WHERE: The cleanup spans more than 20 locations across Wayne, Pike, Monroe, and Carbon counties including townships, boroughs, trails, parks, and private communities.

WHO: In addition to volunteers who registered via PickUpThePoconos.com, more than 25 private organizations, resorts, businesses, and schools have generously organized cleanups.

Pick Up the Poconos is supported by key partners including Keep PA Beautiful, Leave No Trace, Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority, PennDOT, Pocono Organics, and Waste Management.
