Poconos skiing and snowboarding has begun, and you don’t want to miss park upgrades, equipment expansions and ski specials this year. Each resort offers world class learning programs for those that are new to the sport and for those that want a refresher, too! So, get your gear tuned and head for the mountain. Big Boulder
Lake Harmony, PA

Trails: Up to 16
Lifts: Up to 8
This season: New this year, Big Boulder's terrain park covers almost 70% of their mountain. Nine terrain parks allow the ultimate Pocono freestyle at Big Boulder. Operations are primarily at night, with extended daytime hours over holidays and weekends. Blue Mountain Resort
Palmerton, PA

Lifts: Up to 16
This season: A 40th trail is new with ungroomed trail features on seven skiable acres, which is only open when there is enough natural snow. Additionally, Blue has a new PistenBully 400 Park groomer featuring the latest technology capabilities and all 122 Burma Chairs are refurbished. Off the mountain, a new tuning, sports and retail shop in the Valley Lodge features one of the best tuning machines on the East Coast. If that isn't enough, there are new discount incentives for online purchases; if you buy in advance, especially during off peak times, you could snag a lift ticket for just $20! Learn more.

Camelback Mountain

Lifts: Up to 16
This season: Camelback bought all new snow guns for the entire mountain - that's 377 to be exact. These HKD snow guns include a Halo Fan, 196 tower guns and 94 Vipers (this is the largest improvement in the ski resort's history!) They also added a new snow groomer, the state-of-the-art PistenBully 400 Snowcat, to its grooming fleet for optimum slope conditions. Learn More.

Jack Frost Mountain

This season: Purchase your Drifter Pass and you’ll gain unlimited access and discounts to 12 Peak Pass Resorts across the Northeastern United States, including sister mountain Big Boulder! New this year, Jack Frost Big Boulder is now a part of Vail Resorts. Shawnee Mountain Ski Area

Lifts: Up to 11
This season: All things snow are upgrading on the slopes, from automation to groomers. 85% of Shawnee's trails now have automated, computer-controlled snow-making capabilities. Their snow-making covers all of the mountain's 125 acres of terrain, and nearly 100% is fully-automated. They've also upgraded their grooming equipment with a 4,000-foot Snowcat service building and PistenBully 400 grooming machine. Learn more.

Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain

Lifts: Up to 7
This season: Starting December 14, Ski Big Bear operates on holiday hours before regular hours take effect on January 2, 2020. New and improved, Ski Big Bear has new snow-making equipment, updated equipment in the rental shop and now has ability to sell tickets online. With new incentives for residents as well as nearby lodging packages for visitors, Ski Big Bear is bringing the savings to the slopes.
