Safari ice sculptures will be featured in front of local businesses, and you'll also find life-size snowmen painted by local artists. Take a stroll and explore the town's one-of-a-kind boutiques, galleries and shops, such as Dunkelberger's Sports Outfitter, which has been a Stroudsburg staple storefront for 40 years.
Shake off the cold with an authentic meal watch the Hibachi chefs and sample the renowned sushi menu at desaki.
Evening: Skiers and snowboarders, the slopes are calling! From first chair to night skiing, the Pocono Mountains' six ski areas, like Camelback Mountain and Shawnee Mountain, have something for all abilities including world-class learning programs - the perfect opportunity to get your friends and family hooked on the sport like you. Pocono Environmental Education Center offers hikes throughout the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area where you may spot a waterfall or two. Evening: Explore local breweries in the area. Microbreweries have popped up across the region with a focus on tasty sustainability. Jam Room Brewing Company and Wallenpaupack Brewing Company use local ingredients to handcraft beers. Like grapes, too? Don’t forget to visit Pocono wineries!
Monday: Experience the beauty of the Pocono Mountains.
Morning: It doesn’t get much more majestic than a bald eagle in flight. Try to spot one while eagle watching! These stately creatures migrate to the Pocono Mountains during the winter season to take advantage of the eco-friendly habitat. Explore the Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River and Lackawaxen River through a self-guided tour.
Afternoon: Experience our region with a ride on the rails. Join The Stourbridge Line for their Winter Wonderland train trips this holiday weekend. The Express trip departs from Hawley, or visitors can opt for a longer trip on the Limited excursion from Honesdale. You may even spot a bald eagle overhead as the train makes its way along the river.
