Quiet Valley's Harvest Weekend
On Columbus Day Weekend, the usual Harvest Festival date, there will be two different themes. Visit the farm Saturday October 10th for the “Farm Animals and their Uses” event and meet some of the animals. Find out how the early settlers made their own cheese, turned horns into cups and crafted tallow candles. On Sunday October 11th it is all about “Natural Fibers and Their Uses”. Demonstrators will show heritage craft skills involving various natural fibers. Spinning, wheat weaving, traditional dyeing and bobbin lace are some examples. Pre-registration is required for both days. Please call the office to reserve a spot for either 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm. Visit website for additional fall events.
