Help strengthen Pennsylvania tourism: sign the petition below to support the proposed private, public partnership aimed at integrating statewide tourism marketing efforts.
As Pennsylvania's second largest industry, tourism creates over half a million jobs across the Commonwealth and generates billions annually in state and local tax revenue. Especially now, as tourism struggles in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is critical to support the industry with strategic and cohesive statewide tourism marketing.
The Pennsylvania Tourism Office is currently located within the Department of Community and Economic Development where it is subject to political change and budget cuts, leaving Destination Marketing Organizations across the state to fill the marketing gap.
The newly-proposed public, private partnership would merge the efforts of these two, integrating expertise, input and resources from both public and private sectors and providing greater alignment across Pennsylvania's tourism industry.
