GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

            Process the payroll(s) and leave of absences by entering/compiling payroll for calculation and to adhere to Federal and State laws.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent listening and communication skills and a friendly, congenial personality.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Payroll background a plus.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Enter, scan and calculate all payroll data, such as hours worked, paid time off, bonuses, commissions, adjustments, earnings and tips
  • Ensure accuracy of the payroll before transmitting
  • Print paychecks and advices for distribution
  • Submit and balance payroll taxes
  • Print weekly and bi-weekly reports
  • Maintain and update all payroll information and changes
  • Onboard new hires
  • Print off-cycle manual checks as needed
  • Maintain files complying with orders of withholdings (support, garnishment, etc.)
  • Maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
  • Work with managers and staff to resolve issues as needed
  • Process, track and adhere to guidelines set forth by FMLA
  • Clerical and office duties
  • Performs other duties as assigned by HR Director and/or Payroll Manager

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

            High School diploma required, Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred.

 

           

LANGUAGE SKILLS

            Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

            Ability to apply concepts such as fraction, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

            Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
