Join Pocono Television to discover the charming small town of Milford, Pennsylvania.
Pocono Television Network's hosts Chris Barrett and Deanna Fontanez visited the beautiful and quaint small town of Milford for the day to discover great places to see and things to do. Established in 1796, charming Milford is situated in the upper Delaware River area and is full of amazing restaurants, shops, and scenic beauty.
Chris and Deanna started their Milford visit with a stop at The Dimmick Inn for some delicious pizza; Deanna got behind the counter to have a go at making pizza! The team at the Dimmick Inn toss up about 250 pizzas a night. After lunch, Chris and Deanna explored a wonderful metaphysical shop nearby, Earthly Treasures. This shop is really unique and offers crystals, incense, jewelry, candles, plus so much more. They even have readers on the weekends.
Next up was a tour of Grey Towers National Historic Site to learn about local history. This estate was built on nearly 100 acres and was once the home of a major figure in the American Conservation Movement, Gifford Pinchot. He was the founder and first Chief of the US Forest Service, tripling the nation's forest reserves and protecting their long-term health for both conservation and recreational use, which we all enjoy today. If you are looking for outdoor activities, there are plenty to try in the area around Milford. You can hike, bike, camp and canoe or check out beautiful waterfalls.
Chris and Deanna had a few more stops on their Milford itinerary. They enjoyed a drink at The Tom Quick Inn, where the menu and ambience are impeccable, then decided to get dinner at The Delmonico Room at Hotel Fauchère, a beautiful boutique hotel and fine dining restaurant built in the 1870s. Many celebrities, heads of state, and actors have graced its halls. To end the day, if you're looking for a hip place to have an evening cocktail, you can take a stroll to Jive Bar and Lounge.
