If you’re up for a little friendly competition, we have the perfect indoor activity to enjoy with your family. Pocono Television Network recently stopped by S & S Speedways, located on Route 209 in Stroudsburg, for a fun ride around their indoor go kart track.

Owner Randy Smith described how S & S Speedways stands out from other indoor go kart facilities: “Most go kart tracks are road course types with left and right turns. Our track simulates dirt track oval racing, more like drifting, which means driving with the back end of the car.” Wondering what’s the strategy to get to the front of the pack? Randy said, ”Sometimes slow is fast; the track is semi-slick, so you can’t just step on the gas and go. You have to ease around the turns.”

To be able to drive at S & S Speedways, guests must be at least 4’6” and wear closed toed shoes and safety glasses, and any long hair must be tied back. After checking in and some brief instruction, we got our chance to get behind the wheel and go for our own ride. It was so fun! There is definitely a learning curve, but like Randy said, “Sometimes slow is fast”. After a few laps around the track, you’ll get the hang of it.
