What's New at Camelback Mountain Adventures: Summer 2022

Find out all there is to enjoy this summer at Camelback Mountain Adventures in the Poconos!

PTN’s Brianna Strunk checked out several new attractions at Camelback Resort in Tannersville, home to Pennsylvania’s largest Outdoor Adventure & Waterpark.

Guests can fly high through the sky via 1,000-foot double barrel ziplines. Soon guests will be able to soar Superman style too, down 4,000-foot ziplines.

“So instead of standing or sitting down in the zipline like normal, we’re calling it a Superman kind of position where you’ll be able to lay flat and soar down the mountain,” said social media manager Molly Coneybeer.

From UTVs and Treetop Adventures to a Euro Bungee and Climbing Wall, fun is always within reach at Camelback Mountain Adventures. The facility is also home to Pennsylvania’s only Mountain Coaster.

“You go from top to bottom of the mountain, in and out of the trees. The other day I saw a baby deer run right underneath it as I was riding. It really is special when you can capture what it feels like to just be in the middle of the mountain,” Coneybeer explained.

In addition to new ziplines, summer snowtubing is also coming soon. “So, think about snowtubing in snow, but now you can snow tube in the summertime,” Coneybeer added.

Next door at Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark, cool off with 37 rides, slides and attractions for all ages. Plus, the new River Racer waterslide opens this summer.

“There are eight lanes that intertwine and loop and cross over each other. At the bottom they all meet, so you can race your friends and family down to see who gets bragging rights for the rest of the day,” Coneybeer said.

For a weather-proof vacation, head inside Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, where it’s 84-degrees and bathing suit season year-round. While there, check out the recently opened Mountain Mayhem, an immersive and interactive waterslide.

“At the top you’re able to pick different lighting and effects, and also the music that plays as you go down the slide,” explained Coneybeer.

From riding down the mountain in a coaster to riding waves at the waterpark, you can’t pack all the fun in to one day. Camelback Lodge has you covered with over 450 remodeled overnight rooms, revamped restaurants, and an arcade with some new games.

In the winter when Camelbeach transforms into Camelback Mountain, there will be plenty of new offerings for skiers, snowboarders and snow tubers, including a high-speed, six-person enclosed chairlift which replaces the existing Sullivan Express. “There truly is something for everyone here!” Coneybeer added.
