We'll have an active discussion from personal and professional angles that will help you become aware of what you know, don't know and behaviors to promote more diverse, equitable and inclusive environments.

    Dr. Damary M. Bonilla-Rodriguez is a national leading authority on leadership development, especially as it pertains to diversity and inclusion. She delivers keynote addresses and presentations drawing upon her experience from roles in the non-profit, private, and government sectors, as well as her doctoral research. Her research about Latina leadership in the United States has served as the foundation for events, conference sessions, publications, and content development - to address the urgency of leadership development for a fast-growing population and create a pipeline of diverse leaders.

    Chris Timmins is a marketer and brand advocate. His tenure at JetBlue, Conde Nast, and Upworthy brought him to Basis, an award winning agency and advertising technology leader whose mission is to help marketers work smarter, not harder. He is committed to educating his clients on the latest digital marketing trends and helping them build the most effective strategy for their business. Chris hails from the Chester County, PA and grew up skiing Jack Frost and Big Boulder. He now lives in the Hudson Valley with his wife, son, and daughter.

    Leon has a unique perspective on race relations. Listening to his story will cause you to open your mind and think about how you can improve Race Relations and all relationships in every area of your life.

    Leon Thomas is President of The Leon Thomas Group. The company’s most popular services are virtual event production and race relations speaking/presentations. He began his 35-year hospitality career as a line-level employee and advanced through the ranks to hold many management positions in the hotel business. Ultimately, he would become a member of an ownership group.

  • Highlights best practices for effective corporate crisis communications and ongoing community relations. Tools for professionals to handle the media and shape the overall message.

    Since taking the helm in 2017, Chris Barrett has overseen a steady growth in the Poconos region within the tourism sector, navigated a pandemic and economic downturn, championed causes such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and supported nonprofits, charities, the local workforce and economic development. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Barrett guided the rollout of the award-winning Pocono Promise across the four-county region to help visitors, employees and residents mitigate the spread of coronavirus.

    Jim grew up in Honesdale and moved back with his family in 2013. Jim skis and golfs and he grew up working at Keen Lake, Woodloch and loves exploring the Pocono Mountains. Previously, Jim was an anchor and reporter for more than 12 years at WNEP-TV. Jim, his wife and two children love experiencing so much of what the area offers from music festivals to delicious restaurants and breweries! jhamill@poconos.org

    Brianna was born and raised in the Pocono Mountains. When she isn’t chasing around her toddler, Brianna enjoys exploring the region’s hiking trails and wineries. Upon graduating from East Stroudsburg University, Brianna became the Pocono reporter, and eventually the weekend morning anchor, at WBRE-TV. Through her current roles as PR Manager of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau & co-host for Pocono Television Network, Brianna hopes to inspire visitors and locals alike to get out and experience the Poconos. bstrunk@poconos.org
