Deanna and the PTN team took a trip to visit Gorgeous Floral in Hawley—a place that’s much more than just a flower shop. Deanna and a few friends attended one of these classes, and they brought you along for the experience.

Dee Grublauskas, Director of Floral Design at Gorgeous Floral, greeted the group with snacks and punch before explaining a bit about the class.

“It’s one of our most popular classes,” Dee shared. “Throughout the year, we mix it up—sometimes it’s flowers, sometimes pumpkins, or wreaths. But today, we’re doing our succulent class, where everyone gets to create a little garden of plants to take home. It’s a lot of fun and popular because succulents last a long time.”

As the class got underway, Deanna asked Dee, “What inspires the designs and themes for your classes?”

Dee replied, “I love to find ways for people to decorate their homes throughout the changing seasons, using things that last longer than just a few days. For instance, around the holidays, we often do boxwood trees, which can last three to four weeks. In the middle of winter, I might host a tropical-themed class to bring in a bit of warmth. It’s all about finding joy in every season.”

Deanna also asked Dee what makes Gorgeous Floral unique.

“With over ten years of experience, I’ve developed five or six different design styles. Whether someone wants a traditional vase arrangement, a modern, structured design, or something more wild and free-form, I’ve got it covered. What makes us unique is the variety. I like to think that my designs can be whimsical or very straightforward, depending on the person’s style.”

Deanna added, “I love that these classes are perfect for groups—like us—or even for bachelorette parties, birthday celebrations, and more. They’re a great indoor activity, especially during the colder months when you can enjoy something fun and creative with friends while also taking home a gift for yourself or someone special.”

Dee agreed, “Honestly, we’re busy year-round. Even in the hot summer, people love to come in, cool off, and have some fun. It’s the perfect way to spend a Wednesday night with friends, making something beautiful and memorable.”
