Pocono Fishing
An angler can visit the Pocono Mountains region for an entire month and never fish the same water twice.
It's the lure of great fishing in an awe-inspiring setting that brings more fishing enthusiasts back to the Pocono Mountains each year. If you enjoy fishing then you will love casting into the thousands of acres of lakes and hundreds of miles of streams at these fishing locations or pay lakes, at our national, state and local parks or when being assisted by a guide service.
Explore beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack, the third largest man-made lake located entirely in Pennsylvania and has become one of the Poconos' most treasured recreation areas. Don't have your own tackle? No problem...borrow it through our Fishing Tackle Loaner Program at our Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center. We make getting out and enjoying Lake Wallenpaupack fishing easy!
A Pennsylvania fishing license is required for anyone 16 years old and up if not fishing at a designated pay lake. Different types of permits can be purchased online, in person or by mail. Find out how through the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Licenses can also be obtained at any Pennsylvania sporting goods, outdoor or similar store that is a Licensing Agent of the Commission, County Treasurer offices or Fish and Boat Commission offices.
