Lake Region

Get out on the water or relax by the shore: the perfect lake day awaits in the Poconos.

Stunning Lake Wallenpaupack sits at the center of the Lake Region of the Poconos. Built in 1927, this man-made reservoir covers 5,700 acres, stretching 13 ½ miles long with 52 miles of shoreline. The "Big Lake" offers ample opportunities for boating, fishing, paddleboarding and swimming, but it isn't the only body of water in the region. Head south to enjoy the two public lakes at Promised Land State Park or book a stay at Woodloch Resort to enjoy the private waters of Lake Teedyuskung. When you're ready for a splash break, head to nearby hiking trails, entertainment venues, shops, restaurants, hotels, and more.
