Gorilla Grove at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions
Jump on the ropes course, zip through the trees, putt around and play laser tag at Gorilla Grove!
JIM: Hi, folks. Jim Hamill with Pocono Television Network here at Gorilla Grove, TreeTop Adventures at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Pocono Manor. And this place is outdoors. Unlike the indoor waterpark out here, you get the sunshine, you get 36 holes of mini golf, you get a treetop course, zip lining and an outdoor laser tag. Let's go meet the folks here behind the scenes, too, because we'll play a little bit of mini golf on this Pocono Mountains Magazine segment. Bella Hicks is here. Bella, thanks for having us. Gorilla Grove is a great spot for people to add value to their entire stay here at Kalahari. What kind of things you guys have going on here, though?
BELLA: We have an adult ropes course and two little climbers ropes course as well. A quad racing zip line where you can race your family down the zip line. Also, 36 holes Legends of the Lost Jungle mini golf. Yeah. And then our new activity is our outdoor laser tag.
JIM: Outdoor laser tag is a pretty fun thing, too. We won't necessarily get into that. But my son Cagney's behind us. Go ahead. Putt right up the way there. Oh, hit the rock. So, Calla, our intern as well for PTN and you've seen her on segments. Keep putting there, guys, because we're going to tee off right after you do there. And this is where families and all kinds of folks can come on out here and have a blast. Right. There are 36 holes and they seem challenging. And then there's a surprise around every corner, right?
BELLA: Absolutely. 36 separate holes to. So you're not going to get bored with the same 18 holes.
JIM: Now, I am an amateur golfer at time times, so I do like the nice putt, Calla! She sunk that one. Gorilla Grove, though, is something of an added feature here for the folks on property, right? It's additional cost to play and to do the things here. Where can people find out more about the Gorilla Grove features here?
BELLA: Yeah, if you go to the Kalahari Resorts website, we have all of our information there too. You can always call in too if you want to hear a friendly voice. Also we have promo deals online on our website as well. Okay. Promo deals on the websites or at the KalahariResorts.com.
JIM: We're going to try to make this putt.
BELLA: Oh, no way.
JIM: I know. Okay. I've been here all week practicing for this, but we're showing folks footage here of a recent shoot where we were here and some folks were having a blast out here You could wake up, get some breakfast, you know, hit the water park, hit the arcade. But then if you guys want to get outside and enjoy the grove, it's just like a short walk or a short drive down from the main entrance to the park, right?
BELLA: Absolutely. And it's where you're looking for an adventure. So if you're looking to have that thrill seeking moment, this is the place to be nice.
JIM: So we've got a lot of features here. The indoor water park inside, it's arguably the largest indoor water park in the United States. Little Lake, just the northeast here. Yeah. And we also have to leave the rivers in there, an outdoor water park, too, where we mimic all of our indoor slides as little kids slides do, so they can enjoy the fountain just as much as the adults.
BELLA: You've got everything here, too. No need to leave the resort. We have everything you need from dining to entertainment activities to do with the family and then relaxation at the end of the day. So no need to leave.
JIM: Yeah, you definitely have a lovely spa as well. I know that Deanna and friends have experienced what I'm talking about in a Pocono Mountains Magazine in the past. That's a lovely option. We did want to feature a little something here. You have a young man up here ready to show us. What is this feature up here before he takes the plunge?
BELLA: A little bit on our Gorilla Grove TreeTop Adventure course. It is one of our harder elements. You have to work your way up to the top, but once you do, you have an amazing free fall. Brian show us how it's done. Slowly releases you to the ground too, in a controlled manner. And we have staff around at all times to help and working through those fears.
JIM: That is the key right here, too, is being safe among the treetops, courses of courses and everything else. There's a lot of logs and various obstacles that you've got to contend with here. So everybody suited up and made sure that they can do that in a safe manner to that's absolutely top tier safety. You can't do this without safety. You can't have fun without safety.
JIM: So we've shown you all the things here at Gorilla Grove. But one last thing here with my son, Cagney, Calla and Bella. A hole in one challenge here. I'll be taking anybody out to lunch. Who makes a hole in one, including myself. So there you have it, guys. We took on a Gorilla Grove. We all had a great time. Thanks for joining us here on Pocono Mountains Magazine.
