Inside the New Main Street Makery
From cupcakes to soap, learn about the different cookery and crafts you can create!
Main Street Makery is the newest addition to downtown Stroudsburg, specializing in hands-on classes for all ages and abilities. “We teach classes in all kinds of culinary and kitchen crafts such as cake decorating, cheese making, and soap making. Today, we’re making snowman cupcakes as well as French macarons,” said Lisa Diemer, owner.
Classes are held throughout the week and require pre-registration. “We also have Cupcake Lab, which we’re famous for, on Saturday afternoons from 11-3pm. Anyone can come in and decorate a cupcake,” Diemer added.
Main Street Makery also specializes in private events including children’s birthday parties and bachelorette parties. “Downtown Stroudsburg is filled with wineries and breweries, so you can make a day of it right here in town. We are BYOB-friendly and will create a private event exclusively for you based on your interests and techniques you’d like to learn,” Diemer said.
Prior to opening Main Street Makery, Lisa Diemer ran a successful business called Kitchen Chemistry for 12 years.
“We are in the same location, just changing gears. Kitchen Chemistry was a bakeshop. We started out making gourmet cupcakes then expanded into wedding cakes and custom cakes, and business exploded. Kitchen Chemistry was originally founded to teach classes and sell supplies, so I'm really just returning to my roots,” Diemer explained.
She added, “Main Street Makery is a new name for what's very familiar to anyone who knows us in Stroudsburg. We love Main Street, it's part of our being. We want to be a comfortable place for people to bring their family and enjoy a wonderful experience. They’ll go home with something they're proud to post on social media and share with their families."
