Kalahari Train to Gorilla Grove Treetop Adventures
Board the new train at Kalahari Resorts as it takes guests from the waterpark to Gorilla Grove.
From zipping down waterslides at the East Coast's largest indoor waterpark to zipping through the trees at Gorilla Grove Treetop Adventures, all aboard the new train taking you from one playground to the next!
“We wanted to add something special this year, so what better than this train picking up guests at the lobby and taking them all the way to Gorilla Grove?” said Don Pleau, general manager.
The Gorilla Grove Express provides continuous transportation throughout the day between indoor and outdoor fun at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in the Pocono Mountains. The complimentary ride lasts around seven minutes, and is ADA friendly.
Fueling the fun is Conductor John.
“And he'll have a lot of great stories to share as you’re taking the ride down to Gorilla Grove. You can't have a train if you don't have a conductor with a character, and John is a real character,” Don smiled.
Once you reach Gorilla Grove, you'll go bananas over the ropes courses with 87 elements ranging from easy to expert, quad racing ziplines, outdoor laser tag, and a 36-hole miniature golf course.
We're not monkeying around. This place has you covered for an afternoon of thrills, whether you're enjoying one or all of the activities. Plus, you don't need to stay overnight in order to visit. Day guests are welcome, too. “Gorilla Grove is friendly for everybody, from little kids all the way up to senior adults,” Don added.
Life's a beach inside Kalahari's 220,000 square foot indoor waterpark, heated to 84-degrees year-round. There are nearly 1,000 overnight rooms, plus a variety of sit-down and on-the-go dining options that are also open to the public.
“We have modern Mexican food at Cino Ninos, modern American food at B-Lux Grill & Bar with giant shakes and wonderful burgers, Sortino's Italian Kitchen with authentic red sauce, and of course Double Cut is our American Steakhouse with sushi,” Don explained.
Kalahari is also home to a massive convention and meeting center, one of the largest in the Northeast. In fact, the restaurants are perfect for socializing after events and Gorilla Grove is great for teambuilding, so professionals can work and play hard!
“Everything that you need is right here at Kalahari whether you're here for business, pleasure, or a little bit of both,” Don said.
The train is one of several new offerings at Kalahari, complimenting major upgrades in the lobby and the recently-opened Redd's Piano Bar, with nightly entertainment in an intimate setting.
“We have so many loyal guests that come back to Kalahari every year, and we like to build relationships with our guests. To make sure their experience is better and better every year, we add more and more enhancements,” Don explained.
Gorilla Grove is open Memorial Day weekend through autumn, while the indoor waterpark and other attractions inside Kalahari Resorts & Conventions are open 365-days a year, for a weather-proof vacation.
