The Paintball Asylum | Pocono Mountains

Test your aim during an adrenaline-filled day outdoors with The Paintball Asylum in Tannersville, PA.

Deanna Fontanez and the PTN team went to check out The Paintball Asylum in Tannersville for a little friendly competition on the field. Whether you’re a pro paintballer or it’s your first time, The Paintball Asylum will take care of you. From gear to jumpsuits, just pick the package that best fits your needs.

Deanna sat down with José Ramirez, manager at The Paintball Asylum, and asked, “If someone has never been here and knows nothing about you guys, what can you tell us?”

José responded: “Here at The Paintball Asylum, we have a whole bunch of things that any age group can do. Any family, anybody who has never done it or has done it throughout their whole lives. If you’ve never done it, paintball is an extremely easy sport to learn and an extremely safe sport to learn. It’s fast paced, adrenaline filled and it’s just all around exciting for everybody. Here at the Asylum, we offer a lot of different sports as far as paintball, that’s for ages 10 and up. We also introduced a young guns jelly ball which is ages 6 and up. I’ve seen 6-year-olds play with their grandparents. We also do airsoft which we added in a couple years ago, and we are just growing bigger and bigger with everything that we’re doing. “

Deanna shared, “I love that because I feel like families are always wondering, where can I take the kids? So, this is a perfect opportunity, like you said from ages 6 to 60 to 106.”

The Paintball Asylum is the perfect place to host an event such as a birthday party or team building outing. José mentioned, “We do bachelor/ bachelorette parties, I’ve had bridesmaids come in. I’ve had mixed bachelor & bachelorette groups or just solo bachelor groups. We also work with a couple businesses in the area where we do packages, where they would play here and then go to a brewery afterwards. No matter what sport we play here, jelly ball, paintball, or airsoft, it’s all about team building. Working as a team, coming up with strategies, and the best part about it is, a lot of groups mingle together that have never seen each other until this day. They get to come up with fun ways to play, and it turns out that a lot of them become friends after they’re done. I’ve seen 10-year-olds, nervous and come by themselves and make friends with a 50-year-old guy out there and they become the best duo on the field and leave as best friends afterwards. The sport really does bring a lot of people together. We’re in a big tourist area so a lot of traffic comes through and a lot of people we get have never played paintball before. So, we see it every day and every day, everybody has a great time with it.”

Deanna shared, “I feel like you guys are tucked away so it’s kind of like a hidden gem, when people find your facility, it’s kind of like a nice surprise.”

José responded, “Yes. We get a lot of people who come in and say I’ve never seen this place before and I’ve been up the road skiing for the last 10 years. That's always fun to see because they get to try something new in the area. They’ve been coming for a while but it’s like oh, what do you guys have to offer.”

Currently, The Paintball Asylum has 11 fields on their property that they utilize for games, mixed between paintball, airsoft and jellyball. You’ll get to have a different experience each time you come or even in the same day.

Deanna shared, “I feel like going to do something fun with your family or your friends and leaving with those memories is priceless. That’s something you can’t pay for.”

José agreed, “ Absolutely! And that’s what we’re all about here.”
