The Swiftwater Construction
Watch an exclusive first look at the new Swiftwater Conference & Events Center.
There’s something exciting about getting a behind-the-scenes look at a project before it’s finished, seeing the framework, the details and the vision come together before the final touches are in place. That’s exactly what PTN host Deanna Fontanez experienced during an exclusive first look inside the new Swiftwater Conference & Events Center.
Still in the final stages of construction, the new facility is designed to be more than just an expansion. It’s an opportunity to bring something new to the region while building on the experience guests have come to know at The Swiftwater. The vision for the conference and event center actually began with the hotel’s original meeting and event space. As demand grew, it became clear that more room was needed. What started as a realization that the existing space simply wasn’t big enough eventually grew into a much larger vision and the plans for a new venue began to take shape.
The goal is to create a space that offers an elevated setting for meetings, weddings and special events while still complementing the Swiftwater. The new center will also have its own identity, allowing the hotel and event center to function independently while working together as an extension of the overall property. Flexibility is a major part of the design. The center will be able to accommodate everything from smaller corporate gatherings to groups of up to 500 people. Four individual meeting rooms can be configured in a variety of ways, including being combined into one larger ballroom or divided into smaller spaces and breakout rooms depending on the needs of each event.
But the impact of the project goes beyond meetings and celebrations. The new space is also being designed with the surrounding community in mind. The Swiftwater hopes to host nonprofit events and community-focused gatherings, creating another place where people can come together and celebrate what makes the Pocono Mountains special. That connection to the region is also reflected in the design itself. Nature and the outdoors have always been an important part of the Pocono experience, and the vision for the new center embraces that connection. From the architecture and design to the way the property is being developed, the goal is to intentionally incorporate the character of the area into the space.
For now, visitors will have to use a little imagination to see what the finished venue will look like. But even with construction still underway, it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into creating a space that feels connected to both the Swiftwater and the community around it.
This was just the first look inside the new Swiftwater Conference & Event Center. Deanna will be back once construction is complete to see the finished venue and explore what guests can expect when the new space officially opens.
