Winter Paintball at Skirmish
Winter doesn't slow things down at Skirmish Paintball. Step onto the field for fast-paced fun.
Think winter means staying inside? Not at Skirmish Paintball. Host Deanna Fontanez checks out why winter paintball offers a completely different kind of adrenaline. With cold weather, strategy, and expansive outdoor fields, winter play brings a new edge to the game.
Deanna meets with Skirmish president and owner Sky Fogel to learn what sets the facility apart. “Skirmish is the world’s largest paintball facility. We have over seven hundred and fifty acres and over fifty individual maps,” Sky explains. Designed to bring video game concepts into the real world, each field offers a unique experience. “If you can play it in a video game, we want you to be able to play it in real life.” Starting at just nine years old, Sky has spent 30 years actively playing paintball, helping design many of the fields alongside his father.
Being the largest facility in the world also means variety and accessibility for players of all skill levels. “With over fifty individual maps, every time you come here, it’s a totally different play. It’s a totally different experience,” says Sky. Unlike many paintball parks, Skirmish groups players by experience, ensuring newcomers feel comfortable. “You can play with people of your own skill level.”
Beyond gameplay, Skirmish is a place where memories are made. From bachelor parties to corporate team building, the experience naturally encourages communication, teamwork, and camaraderie. While many assume paintball is only for warmer months, winter has become a popular time to play. “It’s a change in strategy while still having the same base fun.”
For many players, the experience doesn’t end when the games do. “It’s the after stories and the war stories that they tell afterwards,” Sky says. Designed to pull people away from screens and into real-life adventure, Skirmish blends immersive gameplay with unforgettable moments. “It’s putting down the controller, turning off the screen and coming out and doing it in real life.”
Winter doesn’t slow things down at Skirmish Paintball, it amplifies the experience. No matter the season, it’s about getting outside, having fun, and creating memories that last long after the final game.
