Camelback Resort: Complete Guide to Indoor and Outdoor Winter Fun
Jump on a snow tube and skis for a winter adventure at Camelback Resort, followed by indoor splash time at Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark!
If you’re looking for somewhere to take your family this winter for a fun-filled getaway, we’ve got just the place for you. Pocono Television Network is bringing you along to both the mountain ski area and the indoor waterpark at Camelback Resort: this property is a one stop shop! Go from “the slopes to the slides” all in the same day at one property.
We kicked things off with a few runs down the bunny hill to warm up before riding up the mountain on Black Bear 6, Camelback’s newest 6 person high speed chairlift, to hit the trails. Camelback Mountain offers 39 trails and 166 skiable acres for all levels, from beginner to expert, and if you and your family have never skied or snowboarded before, they offer lessons for all ages.
After enjoying the thrill of the ski slopes, we tried another side of outdoor winter fun at Camelback with a ride down one of their 42 snowtubing lanes. Camelback Mountain is known as one of the biggest snow tubing parks in the U.S., and when the sun goes down, the lights and music come on! The mountain transforms for galactic tubing, a truly unique experience. Snowtubing is the perfect activity if skiing intimidates you; no skills required. It’s great for everyone and is always fun!
We ended the day by heading inside Camelback Resort to warm up and check out Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark. This sprawling waterpark has 13 different waterslides including kiddie slides for the youngest in your group, a wave pool, the Flow Rider, and more. They even have some cozy cabanas perfect for poolside relaxing.
While we were at the resort, we got a chance to chat with Director of Marketing Molly Coneybeer about what first-timers should know about Camelback and how they can “stay and play.” Molly said, "Year-round, no matter what the season, we have curated packages that fit just about anything you’re looking for to make the booking process as easy as possible for our guests.”
Camelback has been around for over 60 years, and they are constantly evolving. What started as a small ski mountain now includes a large hotel, a snowtubing park, the indoor waterpark, and an incredible outdoor waterpark, Camelbeach, for the warmer weather months. Camelback is always looking to expand their offerings and enhance their guest experience so that there’s always something new to try on each repeat visit.
Where else can you go from outdoor winter fun to indoor splash time in 84 degree weather? Molly responded, “Pretty much nowhere, especially in the Poconos. The mountain is what sets us apart from everyone and everything.” Start planning your ultimate winter getaway at Camelback!
