For the third year in a row, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) is seeking volunteers for an official litter pick-up day to take place on September 26th, 2020. The event is just one component of the PMVB’s “Pick Up the Poconos” campaign. This year, volunteers can also sign up to clean area roads and public spaces in Pike, Wayne and Carbon counties in addition to Monroe County. The deadline to sign up is September 12 at 5:00 p.m.

Volunteers have already started signing up to help remove debris and litter from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. that Saturday rain or shine. Anyone interested in helping the cause can fill out a volunteer form located at (HERE)

Volunteers will have a choice of which location they would like to help clean-up. Gloves, bags, masks and vests will be provided as well as instructions where to meet on the day of the event. For safety tips on picking up litter please head to

Last year, 371 volunteers helped clean up 738 bags of litter throughout more 60 miles of road across Monroe County. This year, the event will be adhering to proper public health guidelines including social distancing and masking.
