There’s still time to join the more than 100 volunteers currently signed up for Pick Up the Poconos Day, a region-wide litter pick-up event organized by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) for Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (rain or shine). Please help spread the word by sharing the event on Facebook (HERE).
The deadline to register is next Monday, September 20, 2021, by 5 p.m. Anyone interested in helping the cause should sign up on PickUpThePoconos.com.
Volunteers can select to clean one location in Carbon, Monroe, Pike, or Wayne County. The PMVB is currently working with the listed townships/boroughs to identify which roads need to be cleaned. That information will be relayed to volunteers early next week via the contact information they share on the sign-up form.
Thanks to PennDOT and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, the PMVB provides supply kits containing gloves, trash bags, safety vests and trash grabbers.
This annual event is just one component of the PMVB’s “Pick Up the Poconos” campaign. For resources and safety tips on picking up litter, please visit PickUpThePoconos.com.
