Visitors can track where and when peak foliage will arrive

The Pocono Mountains will soon be awash in vibrant oranges, yellows, and reds as the fall season approaches. This year, the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) is excited to announce the release of a new fall foliage forecast map.The map is accompanied by the fall foliage forecast updated every Thursday through the end of October.

Recognized for several years as one of the best spots to view the colorful leaves, the Poconos offers visitors and residents an unparalleled experience of the season's brilliance. The new forecast map will help everyone know where, when, and how to experience the stunning fall views.

"Fall may be the shortest season we enjoy here in the Pocono Mountains, but it is among the most popular for visitors and those of us who call this region home," said Chris Barrett, President/CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. "The PMVB is excited to share with everyone the awe-inspiring show from Mother Nature this season."

The comprehensive fall foliage forecast map is broken up into three regions within the four-county area and shares projected peak foliage dates as forecasted by state foresters. The northernmost color zone encompasses northern Wayne and Pike Counties, while the central color zone encompasses southern Wayne, Pike, and northern Monroe Counties, including Bushkill Falls fall foliage and more. The southern color zone encompasses southern Monroe County and Carbon County, including Jim Thorpe fall foliage.

"Fall in the Pocono Mountains is just around the corner, and there's so much to do! Whether it's exploring by train, playing a round on the golf course, paddling down the river, or picking pumpkins, our region is proud to be a top destination for fall foliage each year," added Barrett.

In addition to the fall foliage forecast map, visitors can browse special fall offers for overnight stays and view the foliage in real-time through live cameras. The PMVB also encourages midweek adventures in the Poconos for better deals and smaller crowds.

To share their adventures, visitors can tag #PoconoMtns or @PoconoTourism on Instagram to have their experiences featured on the bureau's page.
