The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) has awarded a variety of scholarships to eleven recent high school graduates and undergraduate students who are pursuing degrees in or related to the hospitality and tourism industry. The scholarship program, which the PMVB organizes and funds annually, is benefitting a record number of local students this year (see next page for recipients).

Scholarships are available to East Stroudsburg University (ESU) and Northampton Community College (NCC) students as well as high school seniors entering a two-year or four-year college or university of choice. Recipients are pursuing degrees in hospitality and tourism or supporting fields such as business, graphic design, or videography.

“We are honored to provide financial support once again to students as they embark on an exciting and rewarding career path,” said Chris Barrett, President/CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. “Tourism is a promising business, especially here in the Poconos, as our industry provides sustainable wages and endless opportunity for growth. It is our goal to encourage and set up the future workforce for success.”

ESU and NCC scholarship recipients are selected by their own professors and staff members, while a committee of PMVB employees selects the high school recipients.

Proceeds from the upcoming 11th Annual Dario Belardi Golf Tournament at Hideaway Hills Golf Club on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, will benefit the PMVB Scholarship Program.
