PMVB Internship Program
Want to be part of promoting the Poconos? The internship program is designed to motivate and inspire students to work and live in the Poconos post-graduation and is open to students enrolled in an associate or bachelor program with the goal of pursuing a career in hospitality and tourism.
In order to be considered for an internship, a student must complete the Poconos Ambassador Program. To enrich the student internship experience, the PMVB no longer offers virtual internships.

Fall 2026 Internships through the PMVB include...
PMVB Media Coordinator: 24-40 hours a week
This position will gather and curate local news and data to create engaging content for The Pocono Current. This internship also includes public affairs programming. Responsibilities listed below.
The Pocono Current:
- Manage day-to-day content operations for PoconoCurrent.com, including publishing articles, videos, interviews, and multimedia features as well as for PC social channels.
- Maintain a consistent editorial calendar aligned with community events, civic topics, and public affairs priorities.
- Oversee quality control for all posted content, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and brand consistency.
- Source Pocono municipal agenda and minutes plus other reports and data points to build an audience.
- Track analytics, monitor audience engagement, and produce periodic performance reports.
- Work with contributors, journalists, and freelancers to coordinate submissions and ensure timely delivery.
Public Affairs Programming:
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and media needs for public affairs programming produced by PoconoCurrent.com.
- Support research, guest outreach, and background preparation for interviews, panel discussions, and community forums.
- Assist in scripting, segment planning, and editorial preparation for civic-focused content.
- Ensure coverage of local government meetings, policy discussions, community issues, and public-interest stories.
- Help plan, manage, and oversee media production for live events—recording, photography, livestreaming, and post‑event content creation.
PMVB Membership Team Associate: 10-24 hours a week
The Membership & Event Planning Intern supports the Membership Department with a primary focus on planning and executing PMVB meetings, events, and member engagement initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in event planning, hospitality, tourism, operations, and professional relationship management.
- Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of PMVB membership meetings, networking events, and special events.
- Support event logistics before, during, and after events.
- Provide administrative support for membership initiatives and department projects.
- Assist with Membership Team operations while providing exceptional customer service to members, partners, and visitors.
- Maintain accurate records and support data entry within various PMVB systems.
- Collaborate with staff on special projects and other departmental initiatives.
PMVB Accounting Intern: 20-24 hours a week
The Fall 2026 Accounting Intern will play an important role in supporting the development of the 2027 operating budget and assisting with year-end closing procedures. The intern will also help prepare financial documentation and schedules for the 2026 annual audit, providing valuable exposure to budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes.
The Accounting Intern will also assist the Accounting department in various ways:
- Process invoices
- Enter general ledger adjustments
- Bank Reconciliation
- Maintain filing systems
- Assisting with vendor communication
