PMVB Community Impact Grant applications open for limited time
Applications are once again open for the fourth annual PMVB Community Impact Grant, a program established by the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau (PMVB) in 2022 as one of the ways to give back to local communities across the region.
Local governments including, but not limited to, boroughs and townships as well as municipal and redevelopment authorities are eligible to apply for funding to support projects that aim to enhance the quality of life in Wayne, Pike, Monroe and Carbon counties.
Last year, the PMVB Community Impact Grant surpassed the $1 million mark in total contributions among 111 projects, using dollars allocated from the Hotel Occupancy Tax. Initiatives funded over the years include upgrading soccer fields and playground equipment, enhancing infrastructure for community pools and dog parks, funding trash receptacles and anti-litter efforts, and supporting the restoration of historical icons and beautifying downtowns.
“Tourism is the number one industry in the Poconos, and the PMVB is passionate about giving back to the communities that host our 30 million annual visitors,” said Chris Barrett, President/CEO, Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. “The PMVB Community Impact Grant is one of the many ways that tourism continues giving back and has become an integral source to help bring vital projects to completion, benefitting everyone who lives in and visits the Pocono Mountains.”
Proposals are due by Friday, April 4, 2025, for projects to be completed by December 15, 2025. At least a 50% match is required, and the grant cap request is $20,000. Recipients will be notified by April 30, 2025.
