Pocono Proud
Locals know, there's no place like the Poconos to call home.
Pocono Proud was created to celebrate the vibrant communities, talented residents, and unique businesses in the four counties of the Pocono Mountains region. We love to hear stories from the people that live, work and play in the Poconos every day, and you'll find many of these stories in the spotlight in segments on Pocono Television Network and @PoconoTourism social media. Share your moments on social media with #PoconoProud!
The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau is #PoconoProud to contribute to the region's wellbeing through initiatives like the PMVB Community Impact Grant, which has awarded $1.4 million in funding to local projects, Pick Up the Poconos, Pocono 3C, Pocono Scholarships, the Poconos Ambassador Program, and more.
Know the Facts
For generations, hospitality has been at the heart of the Pocono Mountains region, and the tourism industry continues to provide vital economic support for the community through jobs and revenue.
- In 2024, tourism generated $83.9 billion in total economic impact in Pennsylvania and supported a total of half a million jobs.
- In the Poconos alone, tourism generated $7.2 billion in 2024, supporting 38,000 jobs (one third of the local workforce) and resulting in $930 million returned to our community through federal, state, and local taxes.
- Pennsylvania households would need to be taxed an additional $950 per year each to replace the taxes which visitors contribute to state and local governments.
Tourism in the Poconos keeps the doors of your favorite local businesses open, supports your neighbors' livelihoods, and lowers the tax burden for residents. View the 2024 Economic Impact Report to see the numbers and learn how tourism revenue and visitor spending supports counties in Pennsylvania including Monroe, Carbon, Wayne, and Pike.
