Week of Thursday, October 22, 2026 through Wednesday, October 28, 2026

Northern: The northernmost color zone encompasses northern Wayne and Pike Counties, including the charming towns of Honesdale and Hawley. The northern color zone is now past peak, and the majority of leaves have fallen due to recent wind and rain events. Some lingering bronze and orange foliage from Oak and Beech trees can be seen across the landscape. This region is past peak color with around 25% of leaves on the trees.

Central: The central color zone encompasses southern Wayne, Pike, and northern Monroe Counties, including Bushkill Falls foliage and more. Weather dependent, Bushkill Falls is typically open through November, allowing you to experience the full range of leaf colors as they drift over the falls. Fall foliage in the central zone is also past its peak. Most species have changed color, and early-changing trees have lost the majority of their leaves. The few Red Oak trees that have held their green will change to rusty red this week, providing final pops of autumn color. This region is past peak color with around 60% of leaves on the trees.

Southern: The southern color zone encompasses southern Monroe County and Carbon County, including Jim Thorpe fall foliage. The southern color zone is experiencing peak fall color this week, with White Oak, Chestnut Oak and Red Oak showing the most vibrant color. Pignut and Shagbark Hickory are also looking good, along with Red Maple trees on south-facing slopes. Maples, Birch and Gum are already past peak in Northern Carbon County and the Lehigh Gorge. Sassafras and Sumac are also past peak, but the predominance of Oak in Carbon County makes this week perfect for leaf peeping. Full color is around 80% with 80% of the leaves on the trees. Peak color is expected to last through October 28, 2026.
